Winter Garden

This week the tamariki have been busy harvesting the last of the summer whenua hua from the garden. Beetroot were dug out and beans picked. Children worked interdependently to clear the garden in preparation for winter vegetables and spring bulbs.

Each week a small group of children are involved in nohonga tahitanga, exploring the community. So, today a trip to the plant shop was organised to purchase winter seedlings and daffodil bulbs. The tamariki are now looking forward to getting these into the garden next week.
