There is always a tale to tell when we got out the back. We decided to clear the fire pile to make it easier for our lawn mower man. And what did we fine but a lonely snail sitting quietly. The children were excited and wanted to know if it was alive! We didn't know for a start but then we saw the head come out - it was brave enough to stick his eye sticks up and look around. The children wanted to find out more and Lisa introduced a bug book that had snails pictures and little snippets of information. We found out as the snail made his way up the stump that by counting the rings on the shell you can work out their age. the snail was three! We just had to keep him and we made a home in the box and only hope he is happy to stay while we find out more...
